should I buy an Apple eMac 700Mhz?
Specifications: 700 MHz PowerPC 256 MB RAM Tiger CDRW / DVD combo drive, 40 GB hard drive, this is for 39.99 U.S.. Think it's worth? I plan un upgrading the ram as soon as I to 1 GB.
$ 40 for a computer is pretty good, but it depends on what you want to do with your computer, requiring that, if you would consider them. The maximum RAM you can install is 1GB. You would need PC133 SDRAM for this device, and you should check on the availability and price for the ram before purchasing the computer. There are only 2 RAM slots available, so you have to buy 2 – 512 A CDRW / DVD combo drive means you will be able to read, and read burning CDs, a DVD, but you will not burn in a position to DVDs, a 40 GB hard drive is not very much space, so you will not be able to load it with a wide range of applications. It is has USB 1.1 ports, and you will not be able to USB 2 devices on it to use, but it has FireWire ports, so you would be able to a Firewire external hard drive in case you need to add additional Room. You can also purchase an external DVD burner and want when you place it. Tiger is a good system before Leopard, the latest OS system. Tiger requires some CPU speed and but it works on the device, it operates at a bit slower. If you do not need to make the processor or memory demanding applications and can work with a little slower living unit, this machine can work quite nicely for you, especially for the dollar. Just make sure everything is working properly – hard and Combo drive, and if possible to preserve the original system disks, in case of problems, which require you to repair or restore your computer.
